ECMS imposes a "fuel surcharge" on export cargo departing from Japan, and customers are required to cover part of the increased costs associated with rising aviation fuel prices and insurance fees.

Precautions
*The average price of jet fuel in May 2025, which will be the basis for the July 2025 fuel surcharge, is US$78.25 per barrel. *The application may be pending with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Information may change as appropriate after approval. Please note.
The fuel surcharge for export cargo is based on the price of Singapore kerosene, a typical jet fuel used by airlines departing from Japan.
The rate charged will be based on the average Singapore kerosene price for the month two months prior to the applicable month, and will be applied in accordance with the "Fuel Surcharge Setting Standards."
The "Fuel Surcharge Setting Standards" are reviewed monthly, and the rate is determined based on the above conditions and applied to shipments made on the 1st of the following month. Changes for the following month are updated monthly on our website. The fuel surcharge is applied to the shipping fee.

Fuel surcharges are added when transporting luggage by aircraft or ship.
This is an additional fee added to accommodate fluctuations in fuel costs (crude oil prices).
