[Important] Caution and Request Regarding Indirect Exports to Russia

Currently, there are many cases of goods being exported from Japan to Russia via a third country, creating a risk of unintentionally violating Japan's Export Trade Control Order.
In light of this situation, we would like to offer the following cautionary advice.
■ Why is indirect export a problem?
The Japanese government is tightening export controls to Russia.
Not only list-controlled items (specific high-performance items), but also other general-purpose items, including weapons of mass destruction and goods that could be diverted for military use, cannot be exported without permission from the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry if the final destination is Russia .
Cases where goods are exported to a third country but then resold to Russia may also constitute a violation of the law.
If a violation is discovered, there is a risk that your business will be subject to administrative or criminal penalties that could have a significant impact on your business.
■ Request to customers
To ensure continued safe international transactions, please keep the following in mind:
1. Please thoroughly check the final consumer and final destination of your cargo.
・Please check the country and company you are doing business with.
- Please confirm the final sales destination and use as much as possible.
-We strongly recommend obtaining end-user certificates for any suspicious transactions.
2. If you have any suspicions, do not proceed with the transaction.
・If you suspect export to Russia, be sure to consult with your internal specialist department or the relevant government agency.
